Lodi Lumber is a family-owned and operated lumberyard that has been serving the community for over 136 years. We are proud of our rich history and our longstanding reputation for providing high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and superior craftsmanship.

A Legacy of Excellence

Our story began in 1888, when Joseph Rice, carrying on a family tradition of woodworking that spanned generations, purchased a planing mill in Lodi. Together with his brother C.S., they established a thriving business, sourcing, milling, and crafting lumber into homes and buildings that still stand proudly in Lodi today. This early success was met with challenges, including a devastating fire, but the Rice brothers' resilience led them to rebuild, even larger and better than before.

 The legacy continued as Joseph's sons, G.C. and N.A., joined the business in 1911, solidifying the Lodi Lumber Company name that endures to this day. Despite facing another fire and the untimely loss of their father, the brothers persevered, expanding the company with a retail yard and venturing into industrial millwork and wood specialties.

Through two World Wars and countless economic cycles, Lodi Lumber has remained a steadfast presence in the community, adapting and evolving with each generation. We've invested in modern equipment, expanded our product line, and honed our skills to meet the changing needs of our customers. Today, the eighth generation of Rice millmen carries on this legacy of excellence, ensuring that Lodi Lumber continues to be a trusted source for quality lumber and exceptional service for generations to come.
